Pinterest DIY Remake: Holiday Candle Holders

Holiday Candle Holders

It's that time of year, Holiday Season! So, of course, that means it is time for me to go absolutely crazy with holiday DIYs and decorations. Technically, holiday cheer has already begun on The Decor Du Jour with this great guest post and holiday candle tutorial. Now it is time for me to add a DIY of my own ( in the form of a Pinterest DIY remake ) to this Holiday Season. Back in the beginning of the Fall season I wrote a post 15 Fall Decor Ideas To Fall In Love With and it was a hit! There was one decor idea listed ( Tree Stump Candle Holders ) in the post that seemed to get a lot of attention and I was not even surprised ( after all it was perfectly unique and had a stunning look ). Therefore, I have decided to take on this very DIY myself! It turned out to be one of the easiest DIYs I've done. Just 3 steps and I was done! Here is how I took on this Pinterest DIY Remake: Holiday Candle Holders.

You can find the original DIY at cozystylishchic

Here is ALL that I needed:

  • Logs
  • Saw
  • Drill
  • 1-1/2" Spade Bit
  • Tealight Candle

Step One: The Logs

You can honestly use any type of log for this project. The only requirement is that they have a diameter of at least 4 inches. Here's a fun fact: some craft stores like Michael's sell logs for project just like this one! ( Or you can buy the logs here! )Once you have your logs, figure out how tall you will want them to be. When you know how tall you want each candle holder to be, cut them down! I chose to only use two logs and to cut one of them down to make three varying heights for my candle holders.

Step Two: Drill Away

Now that your logs are cut to the perfect varying heights, it is time to drill the holes for your tealight candles. This is where you will be using that handy 1-1/2" spade bit. Taking your drill and your spade bit, drill a hole in the center of each of your logs. Be sure to drill deep enough for the tealight candle to sit in the hole and be flush with the top of your log. Warning: prepare yourself for a LOT of saw dust with this step.

Step Three: Add Your Candles

Just like that, you are completely done with your new holiday inspired candle holders. Add your tealight candles to the holes you just drilled. All that is left is to decorate with the candle holders. Find a great surface to make a statement with some garland or add some festive florals to the arrangement!
