Well, three weeks into our engagement and I am still up on cloud nine! I simply cannot help, but to pinch myself every now and then to make sure that I am not dreaming. Here is what I know so far about this time of my life. 1: I have turned into an absolutely terrible driver because I am constantly staring at the ring on my finger ( whoops.. sorry about it ). 2: It is so easy to go crazy with wedding magazines ( can you ever truly have enough ). 3: Pretty much every single conversation I have with my mother will somehow, someway turn into being wedding related. They won't start about the wedding, but boy do they finish about it! Even something as simple as admiring a neighbors rose bush will turn into "So what kind of florals are we thinking for the big day?" and then to "What will the wedding color palette be?"... catch my drift?
Anyways, it is simple questions like these that have prompted me to write this post. I want to spend some time on and put some thought into what the wedding color palette should be. Of course, John's answer to these questions is "You're the decorator, I trust you!", so this decision will be all me.
My first thought was that I love the way my fiancé looks in a grey suit, so I wanted some shade of grey to be a part of the wedding color palette. It didn't take me long to decide on a palette that consisted of grey, white, and some pop of a beautiful color. I just needed to figure out what I wanted that pop of color to be. The easiest route would be to just decorate with my favorite color, red. While I would love to still consider red as a possible color for the palette, I want to explore all of the beautiful colors out there. After all, this wedding day will be once in a lifetime, might as well take my time and enjoy every detail! ( Note: time of year also has an effect on the wedding color palette. John and I are hoping for a spring wedding! )
With the help of my cloud nine in internet form ( a.k.a. Pinterest ), I have compiled some wedding color palette ideas that I adore!
The final verdict? Still out!
There is no denying that each of these colors is absolutely gorgeous. However, I have narrowed it down to a choice between two of them, Red or Baby Blue. Decisions, decisions.
